JJ Heller sounds a lot like Bay Area native singer/songwriter/pianist Vienna Teng and is often compared with Jewel. On Wikipedia, she also comes from the Bay Area; San Jose to be exact. Her husband, Dave Heller, plays acoustic guitar and did some background vocals on this album.
The first track, the title track, and the sixth track, (If You Fall, Loved, and Stay, respectively) are slow and a bit reflective. The other songs on the album are catchy, upbeat folk tunes. Themes of hope and redemption are scattered throughout the lyrics of the songs in this album…..two things we constantly need to be reminded of in our lives.
