Popular restaurants have long waits.  The hour-long wait didn’t sit too well with the kids, so we decided to walk around the American Tin Cannery Outlets until we were called to be seated.  Best to come early or not in the middle of breakfast or lunch times since this is an AWESOME breakfast/brunch joint.

We ordered the specials which were:

Steak Benedict – New York Steak with a poached egg on top of an English muffin and drenched with hollandaise sauce complete with country-style potatoes.  So BIG I had to save the other half for later that night.

Cranberry and White Chocolate Wheatgerm Pancakes – Cranberries, white chocolate, and healthy wheatgerm.  What’s not to like?  Yummy GINORMOUS dinner plate sized pancakes!

Also ordered the Hawaiian Crepegg (thin crepe combined with fluffy whipped egg) and Cheese Quesadilla.

The girls are ready to grub, but first they’re trying to figure out the best way to eat their big portions.

You get a lot of yummy food and bang for your buck here at First Awakenings.  Portion control?  What’s that?  Better pack up the rest of your meal to go.

  4. We started going to First Awakenings about 5 years ago after seeing it on Rachel Ray’s $40 a Day. Since then, it has become a family tradition. I’ve never been able to break away from ordering the raspberry, coconut & granola pancakes. Seeing the steak Benedict makes me want to branch out! Great picture of the girls.
