This literally is a red house with a fireplace, porch, and outdoor seating. There was a little bit of a wait for a table since I went around brunch time although I was ordering takeout. Joyce and I ate at the recently-closed Robert Kincaid’s White House directly across the street from the Red House Cafe the last time we visited Monterey.
Inside one of the dining rooms, there was one carafe of ice water with a lime slice and another carafe of iced tea with a lemon slice with paper cups on a round table for the taking…..free! Nice touch.
I ordered takeout since we had some food (salad) leftover at the hotel for lunch. I ordered the highly-reviewed Cinnamon Raisin Brioche French Toast and also sides of grilled chicken and avocado for the leftover salads.
The Cinnamon Raisin Brioche French Toast was scrumptious with a dusting of powdered sugar, whipped cream, and strawberries. The sides nicely complimented our leftover salads which rounded out our meal.
