In 2009, there was a 80% off sale on Restaurant.com (they still have these periodically), so I bought a few $25 gift certificates for Aroma Cuisine of India in the Castro Village Shopping Center close to our house.  The only thing on these gift certificates is that you have to dine-in for dinner only and spend a minimum of $35.  Last week, Joyce and I decided to go use one of the gift certificates.  We’ve gone before for takeout and I’ve gone before for their lunch buffet.  This was our first dine-in dinner.

Here is a review of the food we ordered:

Mango Lassi – This was essentially liquid mango pudding.

Mango Chicken – Sweet with a bit of a kick and smothered with a curry-like sauce and fresh mango at the bottom.

Mixed Grill Tandoori – Chicken, fish, prawns, sausage, and lamb on a sizzling iron platter.  There was TONS of food on here!  Lamb was a bit tough without any curry or marinade to go with it.  The raita (yogurt with cucumber, tomatoes, and mint) provided was great for dipping the meat into.

Muglai Naan – A very pesto-ey, cilantro, spinach naan with a garlic and cheese stuffed crust.

There was complimentary saffron-boiled basmati rice with peas when ordering two or more entrees.

Service was great in providing lime wedges for water and constantly monitoring water levels to make sure they were never empty.
