The girls were not all too chatty when I ask them to review the book for me. :p BUT I do remember what they shared and their reactions when they first read the book. They both really enjoyed the pictures. The illustrations are not your typical storybook pictures. Without even reading the book, I think you can have lots of conversations with your kiddos about the Bible just by looking at the illustrations. True to the stories and themes of the Bible, there is just as much “bad” as there is “good”. The girls didn’t really like reading about the first murder when Cain killed Abel. I would recommend this book to all kids like Melody and Emily recommended. It is not like other storybooks I have read, and lots of discussions can be had each time you read it through. There is a focus on the garden (thus the title), but that focus, the smaller themes, and the imagery in the book tie all the little stories together, as well as show how it is the Biggest Story.
