On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, there is an Off The Grid: Vallejo and Front event. This happens to be a 15-minute walk from my workplace, so I decided to go with a couple of co-workers on a sunny day. Tried the Lobster Crunch Roll, Wheel of Fire, and Wakame (Seaweed) Salad.
The Lobster Crunch Roll is lobster salad all wrapped in crunchy tempura. Lobster and Tempura. What’s not to like here?
The Wheel of Fire Roll is an inside-out Spicy California Roll topped with Albacore and a small slice of jalapeno. The roll wasn’t spicy and only had a small kick of spice to it…probably from the jalapeno.
The Wakame (Seaweed) Salad tasted like a normal seaweed salad, but added some mixed greens to the traditional recipe.
We Sushi also serves Kikkoman Gluten-Free Soy Sauce, if that appeals to you.
We Sushi needs to visit the Castro Valley Farmers’ Market more often, so I can visit them more.
***5/27/2014 Update***: Tried the Regular Chirashi (assorted sashimi over a bed of sushi rice). The assorted sashimi was fresh and a bit chilled. There was also a tasty dab of Wakame (Seaweed Salad) on top as garnish.
