One of the well-known places to grub at around Pike Place Market is Pike Place Chowder.  This was on the way back to our hotel (Inn at the Market which is one block away from Pike Place Chowder) from visiting the Seattle Aquarium.

Can you believe it?  I actually missed taking a picture of the clam chowder.  The world has come to an end.  Anyways, here’s a picture from Yelp to give you a general idea of the delicious, award-winning New England Clam Chowder in a Sourdough Bowl.

We ordered Combo #1, which was the New England Clam Chowder in a Sourdough Bowl with a side salad and a drink (Strawberry Lemonade).  I also ordered a cup of the Market Chowder to try out.  This is their special “soup of the day”.  It happened to be Halibut Chowder.

Here’s a picture of Emily eating the side salad in our hotel room:

Eating clam chowder is great on a cold or cloudy day.  It’s a bit pricey for what you’re getting, but I guess it’s quality over quantity at Pike Place Chowder.  The famous New England Clam Chowder was amazing with a good ratio of clams, bacon, and potatoes all in a delicious creamy soup.

The Halibut Chowder is great with a good amount of Halibut chunks inside.

If you want to try four types of chowder, you can order the sampler.
