I tried Sam’s Chowdermobile a couple of times before at past Eat Real Food Festival events.  It’s the mobile food truck for Sam’s Chowder House restaurant in Half Moon Bay.  The truck is known for their Lobster Roll and (of course) Clam Chowder.  Usually it serves lunch and/or dinner along the SF Peninsula or on Saturdays at Golden Gate Park for lunch.

However, I decided not to try the two staples but other menu items when the Chowdermobile made a rare FiDi appearance:

sams2

Baja Fish Taco – Generous slab of perfectly fried breaded cod.  There was yummy pineapple salsa and remoulade sauce, a couple slices of lime, and shredded cabbage.

sams3

Fish N Chips – Shoestring Old Bay French Fries were seasoned nicely.  Lightly breaded and fried pollock came in two huge pieces with tartar sauce and malt vinegar.  The complimentary side of coleslaw was just okay.

sams4

Fried Calamari – Perfectly fried squid with seafood cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, and a slice of lemon.

sams5

Shrimp Po’ Boy with Old Bay Fries – So much delicious fried shrimp it fell out of the sandwich with remoulade sauce on a soft hamburger bun.  There was an overflowing abundance of shoestring french fries seasoned with Old Bay.
