This Is Your Kingdom Come Now

This Is Your Kingdom Come Now is a live album from Casey Corum & Friends recorded live from the Sugar Land Vineyard in Texas (Vineyard USA’s Headquarters).  You may have heard or recognize Casey Corum as he is a veteran worship leader and songwriter of worship hits such as Better Than, Dwell, and Your Love Is Amazing.  The album has features a good mix of different genres of music and beautiful intertwining of vocals from the lead vocalists and backing gospel choir.

Album Biography from Vineyard Worship:
This dynamic new album features veteran worship leader and songwriter Casey Corum and a cast of friends recorded before a full house over two nights at Corum’s home church. Listeners will also be introduced to the powerful voices of Torri Baker (Vineyard Church – Columbus, Ohio) and Crispin Schroeder (Northshore Vineyard – Covington, Louisiana), as well as a 17-voice gospel choir. Threads of R&B, gospel, and modern rock are woven together to create a fresh sound while, at the same time, being deeply rooted in the hallmark Vineyard worship value of intimacy with God.”

Review notes of each song:

Love Has Rescued Me has twangy grit with a gospel choir backing and echoes.

Heaven Come Down has good backing vocals and B3 organ sounds.

Where The Mercy Falls is a slow, driving rock ballad.

Peace is a slow pop ballad.

How I Love Your Ways is a slow rock ballad.

Kindness is a slow, driving rock ballad building up to a “soaring” type of ending.

Who Is Like Our God is an interesting country/rock remix of a classic Vineyard tune.

What Joy Is Found is a bluesy tune in 3/4.

Form Us is a choir-driven pop song with B3 organ at the end.

My Great Redeemer is a Coldplay-sounding song.

Psalm 92 and We Are Clean are typical Vineyard-style songs with backing gospel choir.

Furious/Awake My Soul is my favorite in this album as it is a solid rock song with vocal counterpoint.

You Are Here is a typical, slow Vineyard song.

  2. It’s been a long time since I’ve listened to Vineyard Music. Remember back in the day when it was the “in” thing? Would be interested to hear some of their new songs.
