The Brass Knuckle truck has been alternating between Off The Grid: St. Mary’s Square on Mondays and the TruckStopSF alley during the weekdays.  They name their food after big name music acts or what’s trending culturally.

PIG (Pork) Floyd: Tender, yet peppery Pulled Pork sandwich with soft crostini bun and a small slice of bacon.

Lamb Halen: Generous amount of thinly-sliced house roasted lamb sandwich with Harissa Aioli (can barely taste it, if any) and cucumber slices.

The Police: HUGE and numerous breaded Shrimp Po’ Boy sandwich with crab shmear and shredded lettuce.

Fryin’ Maiden: Nothin’ beats the combo of Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Apple Jalapeno Slaw….all on a soft potato bun.

Occupy SF Fries: ENORMOUS amount of Melted Cheddar Jack Cheese over Carnitas Pulled Pork with Pico de Gallo, Jalapeno, Relish Mayo over Garlic Shoestring Fries.  I added squirts of ketchup to the corners of the takeout box.

Tots and the Maytals: ADDICTIVE sweet potato tater tots.

Notorious P.I.G.: Their signature sandwich consisting of sliced roasted pork, ham, melted swiss cheese, and aioli wrapped in a rosemary waffle was filling and absolutely delicious.  It’s the sandwich that made Brass Knuckle famous.  If ya don’t know, now ya know…baby, baby!

Elusive item I haven’t tried yet:
Prawns N’ Roses: Brass Knuckle’s version of a fish taco, but with breaded prawns, coleslaw, and a mayonnaise-based cilantro creme.

    • Malisa, There’s a huge food festival here in the Bay the 3rd weekend of September called Eat Real Festival in Jack London Square if you’re interested. 🙂 I’m not sure which trucks will be there but it’s always fun to try different things from all the trucks that go.
