On Saturday night, we frequented a restaurant Joyce and I went to before with my cousin and his wife (but in Folsom): Chicago Fire. This is a pizza joint and yes, they serve amazing Chicago deep dish pizza here. You can order thin crust, deep dish, or stuffed deep dish (double-layered) pizza.
When we went to the one in Folsom years ago, we ordered the Baked Artichoke. It was memorably amazing! This time around it was as well. We ordered three of them as appetizers to share. The artichokes are baked and doused with Caesar dressing, olive oil, lemon, and topped with Parmesan cheese. They’re tasty, but maybe a little too tasty since the kids preferred the plain boiled version we make at home with mayonnaise dip.
Since the kids came along, we ordered two small thin crust pizzas: one cheese and another Traditional (tomato, basil, garlic olive oil, parmesan and mozzarella cheeses). Small is actually a medium-sized pizza. The Traditional was pretty tasty.
Len and Bonnie ordered the Chicago Fire Combo deep dish pizza. The deep dish was of course filling and scrumptious.
For dessert, we ordered the Chocolate Chip Pizza (it’s like BJ’s pizzokie). Think of a huge creme brulee ramekin with the bottom of a chocolate chip cookie crust, vanilla ice cream in the middle, topped with whipped cream and a maruschino cherry (which Melody gladly ate). This topped off a great and filling meal. Thank you Chicago Fire!
