On another excursion to Truck Stop SF today, I frequented the Hiyaaa! truck with a co-worker.  Hiyaaa! sells Vietnamese food inspired by Banh Mi sandwiches.

On the menu, there is a variety of fillings to choose from and you can either have it on a roll (8″ french baguette sandwich), over rice, or in a salad.  I picked the Lemongrass Chicken and had it on a roll…..stuffed (double meat).

The lemongrass chicken banh mi had a generous amount of tender lemongrass chicken (it should since i ordered it stuffed), cilantro, mayo, do chua slaw (pickled daikon, carrots, romaine lettuce, only a few cucumber shreds), and sliced jalapeno.  An 8″ french baguette is a good size piece of bread to hold it all together.

Banh Mi sandwiches sell cheap (at around the $3-5 range), so this would be considered a bit pricey……but hey, it’s a gourmet food truck!
