The Chairman Bao food truck has some tasty baos, but they’re getting a bit pricey now. I ordered both of the below mentioned baos in the usual steamed bun. The baked bun versions cost a bit more. I have still yet to try their shaved ice (I want to try the Strawberry/Coconut) since summer is long gone. Maybe next season when they’re around or at next year’s Eat Real Food Festival.
Spiced Duck Confit with Fresh Mango Salad (pictured above on the left)
Generous portion of duck + mango shreds + a tangy with a bit of a kick sauce = YUMMY
Tender Pork Belly with Pickled Daikon (pictured above on the right)
Crispy pork belly + pickled daikon = TASTY. Also, got the bun version which is slightly bigger and offers more of the belly and daikon as shown below.
Red Sesame Chicken with Thinly-Sliced Cucumbers, Carrots, and Cilantro (pictured below on the left)
Lots of carrots in this one with flavorful sesame chicken doused in red garlic chili oil = SPICY
Pulled Pork with Savoy Cabbage and Preserved Mustard Seeds (pictured above on the right)
Tender pulled pork with tons of savoy cabbage with preserved mustard seeds spread throughout = SAVORY
They also supposedly have a nicely-designed black T-shirt for sale, but the past couple of times I asked the truck for it, they didn’t have any =(
