The Prestige

Another DVD off my brother’s shelf…but actually belongs to a friend. This is a fairly unique movie set in the late 1800’s about 2 magicians Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Christian Bale) who are trying to figure out each others’ secrets at the expense of the lives of their loved ones. This is probably one of the better movies I’ve seen. The cast is believable in their roles, the emotions are well-portrayed, it’s not predictable, and there is a….twist. You’re left in the end torn between the two sides, but you won’t be left wondering. Watch the whole movie for the “revealing.” I assure you, you will be surprised. It is adapted from a novel.
