The Wedding Date

wedding_dateOverall, this movie was slightly funny. This 2005 movie is about a woman (Debra Messing) who attends her half-sister’s wedding with a date to make her ex-fiance, the best man, jealous. Little did she know what was to unravel in the events days before the big day. Not side-splitting funny, but there was a knee-slapping moment or two. The characters were mostly funny. I didn’t care for the crazy cousin…or the mother…or any of the drunken friends. Okay, maybe just Debra Messing had some good parts. The title is The Wedding Date, but it has less to do with the actual wedding than it did the date. The ending was the saving grace, in my opinion, but it took awhile to get there.
