We came here after spending some time at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.  There were people already waiting outside and weren’t quite sure what to get the kids.  We decided to get the two most popular items as takeout and get the kids some McDonald’s across the street.  Since it was close to nap, we decided to take all the food to go and somehow eat in the car.

We ordered the Acai Bowl (which is basically an Acai smoothie put into a big bowl with freshly-cut strawberries and bananas topped with granola).  Of course since we like fruit and smoothies, this was a hit.  We ended up eating it in the car and finished the rest of it off when we got home since it was so big.  Smoothies are a big part of their business so they have a separate smoothie bar from the kitchen.

The other dish we ordered was the Beef a Cavalo.  It’s big enough to share or eat by yourself if you’re really, really hungry.  This is top sirloin steak laid on top of a French baguette, topped with an over-easy egg (since I love Eggs Benedict, it was all good), sauteed onions, tomatoes, and green onions.  It’s also served with a side of black beans, salad, rice, and farofa (which look and tasted like cornmeal).

Supposedly this is the best Brazilian and/or breakfast place in town.  You get a lot of food for the money here.  The daily long lines and positive reviews all over confirm this.  We’ll have to come back and actually dine-in some time if available.
